LAHORE (December 27 2007): The farmers Association of Pakistan has urged Punjab government to announce 25 percent freight rebate for the upcoming potato crop helping its exporters. The demand came at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the association on Wednesday.
Malik Muhammad Tariq Bucha chaired the meeting and attended by Dr Afzal Haider Rizvi, Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry, Abdul Wahid Sandhu, Ibad-ur-Rehman Khan, Dr Muhammad Mumtaz Warraich and Abdul Rasheed Beg. The meeting reviewed the potato policy of the Punjab government. It said that in May 2007 it was decided by the government that potato exporters would get container with a 25 percent freight rebate to promote export.
