The participants of the meeting were Mr. Peter Middlebrook (A.D.B), Mr. Mansoor Arifeen (CEO, PAMCO), Mr. Parvez Hamid (Manager B.D, PAMCO) and Mr. Asad Rehman (Manager I.D, PAMCO).

Mr. Middlebrook explained ADB’s project in Bhawalpur. Bhawalpur Development Project [BDP] phase-I was initiated 5 years ago and centered around providing basic infrastructural facilities [roads, schools, etc] in the three districts covered by the project [R.Y.Khan,Bhawalpur and Bhawalnagar]. Now ADP wants to start phase-2 of the project and this phase involves about U.S $ 60.00 million. In this phase, ADP wants to focus on activities which will directly impact economic growth in this region.

In light of PAMCO’s program with its emphasis on infrastructural development [cold stores in airports and production areas, reefer transportation, production facilities], Mr. Middlebrook felt that PAMCO should be one of the partners with ADB in phase-2 of BDP. The timeframe given by him is that the broad project concept should be finalized by end of June.
