| PAMCO signs MoU with Board of Investment for Agri uplift - 25.02.2008 |

The signing ceremony took place in the country's capital which was witnessed by Minister for Privatization and Investment, Shahzada Alam Monnoo and Secretary Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, Shahab Khawaja.
The first MoU with Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) is aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two organizations to facilitate investors in the horticulture sector of the country. The MoU was signed by BOI Acting Secretary Major (r) Iqbal Ahmed and Chief executive Officer SMEDA, Shahid Rashid on behalf of their respective organisations.
The MoU is intended to promote healthy business activity in the horticulture sector of the country with an aim to enhance its productivity and decrease post harvest losses.
The second MoU was between BoI and Punjab Agricultural Marketing Company (PAMCO) to develop internal expertise and products for horticulture financing so as to encourage farmers to adopt modern and efficient horticulture farming techniques. The MoU was signed by BoI Director General Muhammad Muslim and PAMCO Marketing Manager Zeeshan Zaidi on behalf of their respective organisations.
Shahzada Alam Monnoo while speaking on the occasion described the MoUs as welcome step towards strengthening public-private partnership. He said that Pakistan was having great potential in agriculture field which needed to be exploited. |
