The cold store will be located outside the bonded area within the cargo complex. It will serve as a general cold storage available for foreign trade and domestic use. It will complement smaller cold storages being set up by cargo handling companies in their respective bonded facilities.

| Though located outside the Punjab, Karachi is a main airline traffic hub. The viability of the cold stores in the Punjab will be considerbly enhanced by developing the Karachi cold store. The CAA has agreed to lease land to PAMCO for the purpose. |
